Monday Marketing Momentum: 3 bold moves that actually work

Monday morning feeling a bit flat? Let’s fix that.

We hear it – you’re staring at the week ahead wondering how to make your marketing feel less like shouting into the void and more like having real conversations with people who actually care. The good news? You don’t need a massive campaign or a Hollywood budget to create genuine momentum.

Here are three strategies we’ve seen work time and again (and honestly, we’re always curious to see how you’ll make them your own).

1. Give your social bio some Monday love

When did you last look at your social media bio? Really look at it? There’s a chance it  has probably been gathering digital dust for months.

Here’s why this matters more than you think: Your bio is doing the hard work of first impressions while you sleep. It’s your 24/7 elevator pitch, and right now, it might be telling people about last season’s offer or using language that doesn’t quite capture who you’ve become as a business.

Being willing to update it regularly – even when it feels “good enough.” is going to help your visibility and relevance.

Try this approach:

  • What’s the one thing you want people to know about your business right now?
  • Got a new service you’re excited about? Lead with that curiosity: “Exploring new ways to help small businesses tell their stories…”
  • Running something special? Be direct: “This week only: Free strategy calls for ambitious local businesses”
  • Update your link to point to whatever deserves attention most

Pro move: Cross-pollinate between platforms. Your Instagram story can tease the link update in your LinkedIn bio.  Make your platforms work together, not in isolation.

2. Write thank you notes that mean something

This one’s our favourite because it’s so simple: reach out to customers who made your week, month, or year better. Not with a template. Not with a mass email. With actual gratitude.

The knowledge we’ve gathered: People are drowning in marketing messages, but starving for genuine human connection. A real thank-you cuts through all that noise.

How to make it count:

  • Pick 5-10 customers who genuinely made an impact (bought something meaningful, referred someone, left a great review, or just made you smile)
  • Reference something specific – the project they trusted you with, the feedback they shared, the way they championed your business
  • Skip the hard sell. This isn’t about the next transaction; it’s about the relationship
  • If you want to include something, make it exclusive and valuable: early access, a genuine discount, or insider info they’d actually want

Example that works: “Sarah, I was just thinking about how you took a chance on our new service back in March. Your feedback helped us refine it into something we’re genuinely proud of. You helped make it better – thank you for that trust. PS: We’re launching something new next month that I think you’d love to see first…”

3. Create some urgency

Flash sales get a bad rap because most of them feel desperate or manipulative. But here’s what we’ve learned: when you create urgency around something genuinely valuable, people appreciate the nudge to act.

The courageous approach: Focus on your existing customers first. They already know you’re worth it.

Why this works: Previous customers have lower resistance, higher trust, and often want a reason to work with you again. Give them that reason.

Make it irresistible:

  • Set real boundaries: “Available until Thursday” means Thursday, not “until we feel like stopping”
  • Offer genuine value: 25% off something they actually want, free shipping that saves them real money, or a bonus that enhances their purchase
  • Tell them why: “We’re clearing inventory for new arrivals” or “Celebrating our team’s hard work this quarter”
  • Use multiple touchpoints: email, social, maybe even a text if you have that relationship

Example with soul: “Quick one – we had such an incredible month that we want to share the wins. For the next 48 hours, all our returning clients get 30% off any additional services. Because honestly? You’re the reason we get to do work we love. Code: MOMENTUM30”

If You’ve Got 15 More Minutes…

Refresh something old: Find a piece of content that worked before and ask yourself: “How would I approach this topic today?” Update it, add current insights, share it again. Your audience has grown since then.

Engage like you mean it: Spend real time on your followers’ content. Ask questions in their comments. Share their wins. Marketing isn’t just broadcasting – it’s participating.

Audit your Google presence: When people search for you locally, what do they find? Update your hours, add recent photos, respond to reviews. It’s unsexy work that drives real results.

The truth is, most marketing advice sounds good in theory but falls apart when Monday morning arrives and you’ve got seventeen other priorities. These strategies work because they’re based on something real: treating your customers like actual humans, staying curious about what resonates, and being brave enough to show up consistently.

What will you try first?
