Last week I spent two days at the Association for Data-driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA) Digital Marketing Strategy course.
While I learnt a lot, I realised that in order to create an effective digital strategy you need to accept one key fact.
All companies are digital companies. Your company is a digital company.

You may protest but ask yourself.
Do you have a website? Is your company on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn? Do you use Xero or another digital accounting platform? Today in Australia it is rare to find a business that doesn’t have at least a component of its business, operated, transacted or at least featured online.
So let’s face it, your business is digital and your business strategy and your digital strategy are now one and the same. Now, that doesn’t mean that you need to be on every social platform, writing a blog every day and invest in a drone, nor does it mean that you no longer need to think about print, TV or people’s interactions with your brand in the real world.
What it does mean is that you now have more options, which if managed correctly can lead to more opportunities. However, more options can also lead to more fragmentation, affecting your ability to reach your customers in a streamlined manner.
Knowing your target markets and identifying when and how they are most likely to interact with your brand are now more vital than ever. Having a clear idea of how you will maximise these brand interactions is key.
Pitstop Marketing understands digital business models, and while we help formulate and drive digital marketing we also have a holistic view of not only non-digital marketing, but also non-marketing digital solutions for your business. Why? Because ‘All companies are digital companies’. While we are focused on digital marketing, we also have partners that can integrate broader digital solutions for other areas of your business, such as operations, human resources and accounting.
Embracing digital technologies is not only about the effectiveness of reaching your target market at the right time in the right environment, but about business efficiency and increased return on investment.
